The Salvation Army of Portsmouth presents “Tenley Westbrook’s Salute to the Salvation Army” on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 6PM at South Church, 292 State St, Portsmouth, NH. The benefit concert will feature performances by Tenley Westbrook and her band with special guests Carri Coltrane and The Overtones. Captain Debora Coolidge, the Executive Director of the Salvation Army of Portsmouth has high hopes that many people in the community will support this effort and attend this evening of great music and fellowship. Pamela Sawin, a member of the York Art Association, will create and donate a painting during the performance which will be auctioned to the highest bidder at the end of the concert. Carri Coltrane is an an award-winning jazz vocalist, composer and recording artist who has performed internationally with artists such as Phyllis Hyman, Anita Baker, Ron Carter, Graham Nash,and Jimmy Webb. The Overtones, a 10 member a cappella group known as the musical ambassadors of Portsmouth Pro Musica, will perform a collection of songs in a variety of musical styles. The price of admission for Tenley Westbrook’s Salute to the Salvation Army is $10.00 per person.
